About me

In a nutshell –  I’m Lucy, I love being a photographer in the Lake District. Living in this beautiful area with my family is my inspiration. My husband is also in the industry, we get to work together from time to time, he shoots drone photography and is a web designer.

I adore the wealth of talent and business in Cumbria and Lancashire. I feel privileged to have grown up here and now to work and raise my family here. I completed my degree in photography in 2003. I returned home and launched my photography business in 2006 after working in photography studio's in Gloucestershire and London.

I moved to Silverdale in 2009 and set up a photography studio, this is the base for my business still today. I love working for a wide variety of businesses from sole traders to large multi-national corporations. Every week is different and I love that. In my studio, I shoot product photography, packshots and food photography. I travel across the Lake District, Cumbria and Lancashire photographing interiors and commercial photography.

How to begin?

How much will it cost?

I charge £50 per hour, all work is charged on a time taken basis. Each job will require shooting and editing time. I have a variety of packages available too, see prices page for details.

Where will you shoot?

For property photography and commercial photography I will of course go to the location. I travel across the Lake District, Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire photographing interiors and commercial photography.

For food photography and product photography this is up to you. I run a small studio in Lancashire plus I have a mobile studio including lights, backgrounds and props to take on location. Some clients prefer me to shoot on site and others don't have the time or space so courier products to my studio. Packshots and white background product photography is best shot at my studio where the light can be fully controlled.

Who will style the shoot?

Some shoots need styling - interior photography, food photography and lifestyle product photography all benefit from styling. I am an expericenced stylist and have an extensive prop collection, these skills and props are all included in my photography services free of charge. 

Do you use lighting?

Property photography in the Lake District or anywhere is the UK really, can be a bit hit or miss with our weather, this is why I always use flash lighting. A guranteed light no matter the weather, blended with daylight to give a natural but bright image. 
I use a wide variety of lighing in my studio too.

How will I receive my images?

All files will be sent via a digital download link and should be saved to your hard drive. A USB drive can also be provided on request, at cost.

Do I own the images?

You have unlimited use of the photographs for any purpose, worldwide, copyright stays with the photographer unless agreed otherwise. For more information on copyright visit the Association of Photographers www.the-aop.org
